Sheela is a rising third year medical student at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). She is a part of the BS/MD program and graduated from the University of Akron in 2016 with her Bachelor of Science.
She enjoys being involved on campus and volunteers her free time at a local free clinic. She serves on the executive board for her school’s chapter of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), helped charter Phi Delta Epsilon at NEOMED, and mentors young girls in STEM through the American Women’s Medical Association (AMWA).
Currently, during her gap year, Sheela is doing clinical psychiatry research at The Ohio State University and also continues to tutor students in various medical school classes as well as for Step 1. She has always enjoyed tutoring and mentoring students throughout high school, college, and medical school. Sheela is excited to work with medical school applicants, and provide them with the guidance to make their dreams a reality.
