Mohamed is a 4th year medical student at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine- Tulsa branch.
Mohamed has a unique path to medical school. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 20 with a bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Mohamed became a U.S citizen the same year he acquired a Master’s degree in Human Relations. After holding multiple careers, Mohamed realized that he had a passion for using science to impact people’s lives in a positive way and so he realized that he must pursue a career in Medicine. Mohamed then went back to college as a pre-med while holding a job and fulfilling his roles as a father and a husband to pursue his dream of becoming a physician. He eventually gained admission to 3 medical schools. Mohamed’s life experiences and diverse background are especially helpful to non-traditional pre-med students as they try to gain admission to medical school.
In medical school Mohamed was a mentor to two underclassmen, Designed and taught a month long class to third year medical students and was involved in student government. He also informally mentored friends who had questions about applying to medical school.
