Darya is a first year medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering with a concentration in medical devices and computational bioengineering.
During Darya's gap year, she conducted biomedical research and worked at ProteinSimple, a biotech device company. She has also performed computational bioengineering research at UC Berkeley as a part of the Mofrad lab, and implemented big data analytics to perform metanalyses on genetic data at UCSF as a part of the Hadley lab.
Darya has experience tutoring and mentoring students through her work as a peer advisor in the College of Engineering while at UC Berkeley. She has also worked with students to craft applications and essays.
